Security In Ministry Annual Picnic for 2011
The annual SIM Family & Friends day was held on June 18 2011 at the American Legion pavilion and ball park at G-4314 West Carpenter Rd. in Flint Mich. There were more people in attendance than ever before. With two ball games going on at the same time, there was hardly enough parking space to contain them all. This event was the bomb. With brotherly love and the Love of God that was shared with so many different denominations and people; a mark was left to encourage people to return to this event again next year.
Many people including adults took advantage of the horses that were there to ride and pictures of them riding them. There were lots of food, as well as a full bodied roasted pig which is eaten clean every year. The crowd was mesmerized by our DJ and the music he played. They went up in a standing ovation and thunderous clap when they saw him play two saxophone at the same time. We kept our Music lively, smooth relaxing and very clean. We offer a special thanks to many of our churches, and to two well respected business leaders who annually give a contribution to it's success. 1. Lawrence E. Moon funeral home whose owner is Lawrence E' Moon and 2. School Ties uniform who's owners are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kelley who supply school kids uniforms and who also supply our SIM youth uniforms.
The 2012 SIM picnic is scheduled for Saturday June 23. from 11:00am - 4:00pm at the same location.
Security In Ministry 14th annual awards banquet:
Our 14 annual SIM Awards banquet will be held on Saturday Oct, 22 2011. at the Jewel of Grand (Blanc Fine dining and Golfing Complex ) located at 5270 Perry Rd in Grand Blanc Mich. 48439 Pastor Reginald G. Flynn from the Foss Avenue MBC will be the guest speaker. Tickets will be on sale starting August 20th for $30.00 each with fine dinning and professional musicians to entertain. If you have never attended one of the Banquets in the past, then you are missing a treat. Please come and help us to honor our officers who help protect our churches within our city , and perhaps consider their functions that maybe your church may want to become a part of God plan to help bring security to our city, community and congregations. there will be a attendance limit of around 200 people who will be able to attend. SIM meetings are held every 3rd Saturday from January through November [Except the Month of December] at the First Union MBC where the Rev: Archie Powell Jr. is Pastor; located at 7004 Fleming Road in Flint Michigan zip 48504. These meetings are important, and a representative from each church is expected to attend them .
Dues are $10.00 per month per church regardless of how many officers you have on your team.
